The color environment in the learning space is an important factor in improving the motivation and concentration of students in school education. The purpose of this study is to investigate the optimal color environment for learning, focusing on colors that are generally said to have a high learning effect on students, and for impression and concentration with changes in brightness.

As a result, it was suggested that the color environment of the classroom and the color of the paper affect concentration and creativity and that it is necessary to provide a color environment that matches the content and purpose to improve the learning effect.

The purpose of this paper is to discuss what measures can be taken to deal with truancy and whether it can be eliminated. According to the “Summary of the Results of the Survey on Problematic Behavior, Truancy, and Other Problems Related to Student Guidance” (2021) published by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the number of truant students in elementary and junior high schools was 196, 127 in the fiscal year 2020. This is the eighth consecutive year that the number of truant students has increased, reaching an all-time high. The increase can be attributed to the change in lifestyle caused by the new coronavirus that has raged throughout Japan, but there are many different factors that can cause a student to stop attending school, and it is not unusual for anyone to become truant at any time.

Truancy is a serious problem that, if handled incorrectly, can be life-threatening in the worst case scenario. Therefore, this paper is a proposal for a new approach to school non-attendance. This paper examines what measures can be taken to prevent people from suffering from truancy, and whether truancy can be eliminated, through interviews with participants who have experienced school non-attendance.

Twenty-two years have passed since the inception of Japan’s nursing care insurance system. The system is designed to function as a public safety net for alleviating the burden on family members who are providing nursing care to elderly persons. As the number of users increases gradually, the system has become an indispensable part in the everyday lives of elderly people in Japan, and the concept of “community-led aged care” has become widely recognized. On the other hand, the system is facing emerging challenges, such as a tight budget in line with drastic increase in the number of elderly persons who require long-term care, shortages of staff able to provide nursing care, and increasingly diverse needs for aged care services. The Japanese central government has repeatedly reviewed and amended the system. This paper examines such amendments, with a particular focus on the tight budget, and it also discusses possible improvements toward building a mutually supportive society and realizing income redistribution.

In 2016 the Tokushima Bunri University started to issue credits to students who attended certain lectures and participated in certain volunteer activities. The degree of their participation in volunteer activities is checked by the scores in their “volunteer passports.” The subject is called “General Educational Subject A: Volunteer” in the Junior College curriculum. Similar systems using volunteer passports have also been introduced by Tokushima prefecture and Tokushima University. In 2020, however, the lectures stopped due to COVID-19, and the students’ volunteer activities decreased. In 2021, while considering this situation and as a preventive measure against virus, we started to introduce teleconference lectures (Zoom and Google Classroom) for the convenience of the students. By carrying out a survey among the students, this research aims to evaluate the positive/negative effect of the teleconference system in this subject, the significance of the “volunteer passport” system, and the remaining future problems. The result of this survey shows that the students thought positively about both the teleconference system and the contents of the lectures, and that the lectures made the students motivated and interested in volunteer activities. The remaining future problems include how we can further motivate students into participating in volunteer activities.

This paper aims to examine and improve the contents of a nursery course class. This class (Music III-1) belongs to a specialized course subject group in the nursery department at Tokushima Bunri Junior College. Music III-1, which deals with about 80 songs as teaching materials, is concerned with how to develop expression skills among nursery course students. In order to improve this class, a survey was carried out as to which songs are more popular among the students. The result showed that, out of 80 songs, 35 were well-known by more than half of them, and 13 were not known at all. On the basis of this result, changes to the length of time spent and the depth of the explanation were made in accordance with how popular the song is. Further, students were given a set time to look back at what they had learned in each class. By ranking which songs are more popular and giving students a clearer purpose to study, singing classes can be improved.

Many pachinko-related documents have been published that record the history of the pachinko industry in post-war Japanese society. However, scarcely any research has been conducted so far that attempts to organize and verify these works.

This study attempts to give an overview of the history of the pachinko industry, with a focus on books related to pachinko hall management that have been published since the end of World War II. The study pays particular attention to the timing and content of these publications. In this study, pachinko-related books are classified into “Overview”, “Culture”, “Management (general)”, “Management (specific)”, “Comprehensive history”, “History of companies and entrepreneurs”, “History of technology”, “Criticism” and “Exposure bomb” from the author’s point of view.

Through the deliberations in this study, it has become clear that many of the books on pachinko management since the 2000s present evidence and grounds from an objective and unbiased point of view that does not depend on subjective observations by the author.

The current study argues that this can be considered one of the achievements toward the realization of soundness that is promoted in the pachinko industry.
